Studio D'Artisan D4615 "Awa Sho-Ai Kakishibu" Denim Jacket Selvedge Indigo

The D4615 is crafted using Japan’s revered Awa Sho-Ai dyeing method, a traditional indigo technique that Studio D’Artisan proudly preserves. This labor-intensive process involves repeated cycles of dyeing, squeezing, and drying, performed by skilled artisans to achieve an exceptionally deep, nuanced indigo tone with remarkable depth.

What truly sets this denim apart is its weft yarn, which is hand-dyed using Kakishibu Some-a natural persimmon tannin dye. Unlike machine-dyed yarns, this hand-dyed weft is intentionally thicker, creating subtle irregularities and a rich, tactile texture. The result is a fabric with pronounced character and organic variation, distinctly different from conventional 16.5oz denim.

Finished in a Type II (2nd type) denim jacket silhouette, the D4615 balances vintage authenticity with Studio D’Artisan’s uncompromising craftsmanship, offering a jacket that will age beautifully and uniquely over time.
